Abu Dhabi Wins Bid to Host Prestigious World Veterinary Association Congress in 2022
Abu Dhabi, UAE – The World Veterinary Association has chosen Abu Dhabi to host its 37th annual Congress, marking the event’s Middle East debut. The conference is set for March 29-31, 2022, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Sheikha Alyazia bint Sultan Al Nahyan, Honorary President of the Emirates Veterinary Association, underscored the national importance of veterinary medicine in the UAE, highlighting its role in ensuring public health and food safety.
Dr. Roula Shaaban Ibrahim Hassan, President of the Emirates Veterinary Association and MENA Councillor for the World Veterinary Association Congress, called the successful bid a “tremendous accomplishment.” She emphasized the congress’s potential to raise awareness about veterinary medicine and provide investment opportunities in the field.
Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau, expressed delight at welcoming the event, stating it elevates Abu Dhabi’s global profile as a premier destination for large-scale gatherings.
Khalifa Al Qubaisi, Chief Commercial Officer at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, noted that hosting the congress aligns with the nation’s development strategies and strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position in the business tourism sector.
The successful bid was a joint effort by the Emirates Veterinary Association, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, and the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
This prestigious event is expected to attract global veterinary experts and industry leaders, showcasing the latest innovations in the field while bolstering Abu Dhabi’s standing as a leading hub for international conferences in the region.
